Do I need a perfect square image?

No. Upload any rectangular image and use the crop stage to frame the perfect square safely before exporting.

Which file formats can I upload?

Genfavicon supports PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF, and SVG files. Vector SVGs are rasterised automatically, so you still get crisp results even if the artwork has no fixed resolution.

Is there a size limit for uploads?

Yes. The maximum size is displayed in the uploader (the default is 5 MB). If your asset is larger, optimise or export a lighter version before trying again.

What sizes do you generate automatically?

We create ICO entries up to 256×256, PNG variants from 16×16 to 512×512, plus Apple touch icons (57, 114, 120, and 180).

How long are my files available?

Workspaces are temporary. They are cleaned automatically after the configured retention window, so download the ZIP once you are happy with the crop.

Can I resume my workspace later?

Keep the browser tab open and you can tweak the crop or download again. Once the retention window expires (or you close the tab and wait for cleanup) the workspace is purged and you will need to start a new session.

Do you store or train AI models with my images?

No. Files are processed automatically, never used to build datasets, and removed after the operational window. We do not repurpose uploads for training or share them with third parties.

Is my favicon slug visible to others?

We keep workspace identifiers opaque and unique to your session, so the raw token never leaves the server.

Can I use the generated favicons for commercial projects?

Absolutely. The output belongs to you (or your client) as long as you have rights over the source artwork. Genfavicon does not claim ownership or add usage restrictions.

How do I get support or request a feature?

Email [email protected] with your request, attaching the workspace URL if relevant. We typically reply within one business day (Madrid/Herencia time, CET).
